The Body Lounge has all you need for luxury, bath, body and so much more. Located conveniently on 1799 Mountain Rd in the Red Barn shops, in the store one can find a wide range of cultivated products from both local and far craftsmanship that help to support your body and mind. We got the privilege of sitting down with store owner; Beth Gadois who was able to walk us through not only what she has in store, but how throughout the years she has been able to give back to the community in ample ways.
This unique store has so much to offer for all who walk into the door. The Body Lounge has products ranging from bath and body products, face toner, shaving cream, moisturizer, masks, lip balm, eye cream, cosmetics, gifts for “him” hair products, and special products made in Vermont just to name a few. It is important to keep products local when you can, and Beth is a true testament to this as she makes and sells her own Arnica product. For those of you who aren't familiar with Arnica it is an age-old, tried, and true anti-inflammatory product used for bruises, stiffness, joint issues, and muscle soreness. Their formulas can help to relieve the discomfort that happens with over-exertion, injury, or fatigue. It is the perfect product to pick up after a long day of skiing or any other winter activity! Beth also has her hand sanitizer sold in her store as well, she is very intuitive and looks to help the community in any way that she can.
It is important to note that the stores throughout Stowe, Vermont are always very generous when it comes to giving back to the community, and they are happy to do it in the most creative ways. Beth has been instrumental when it comes to creating good for others throughout the Stowe community. Beth created what's now known as Local Love Weekend in early December, to not only promote Stowe small businesses but to also give back to the local nonprofit community. Another creative way she has engaged others to get involved in the community is through the “Hunger’s Hard, Baking’s Easy" campaign. Each year in November and December the group members spread the word and ask friends and neighbors to bake bread, cookies, muffins for hungry families. It's a real win-win for bringing everyone together and showing how everyone doing a little bit creates a world of good.
In the past, Beth has also helped with kick-starting “The Stowe Weekend of Hope” which offers a healthy, inspirational retreat weekend for cancer survivors and their families. The annual weekend offers education, enlightenment, inspiration in the town of Stowe. This has been an extremely successful event in the past for those involved.
By providing her creative ideas for retail and stores around her, Beth has been able to make a real impact on lives throughout the community. A very special item that is sold in The Body Lounge and other neighboring stores are “Hope Hats”. The Hope Hats were knit by the Ziegler family and then donated to the Stowe C19 Relief Efforts. All of the funds raised by selling these hats helped to provide food, medical care, and other needs for local families throughout the pandemic. These hats are super cute and very reasonably priced, only $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for children. Since Beth started selling Hope Hats in the Body Lounge she has been able to raise around $3,000.
Even though COVID-19 is still prominent, that has not stopped the town of Stowe from getting out and supporting one another. It is important now more than ever to get out and shop locally. A cause as great as the ones started by Beth and others throughout the community is able to be successful when people in return shop through local businesses. The Body lounge has been able to adapt with covid, by incorporating curbside pick up, making orders over the phone, and online ordering, along with allowing a limited capacity in the store to keep customers as safe as possible. Now is the time to check out The Body Lounge to find some healing for yourself, and that in return will help heal the community as well.
